Who we are

Relocation Assist ("we", "us", "our") provides personal relocation guidance and coordinates regulated specialists (immigration, tax, legal, financial) on behalf of individuals, families and businesses moving abroad. This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through this website and through our consultation process.

For privacy enquiries or to exercise your data rights, contact us at our contact page.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to help you plan a move:

  • Contact details — name, email, phone (optional) when you submit a form or book a consultation.
  • Move details — origin and destination, household composition, timeline, budget range and notes you choose to share.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type and pages visited, used to operate and improve the site.
  • Marketing source — UTM parameters from referring links so we know which channels work.

We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Lawful basis for processing

Under GDPR / UK GDPR we rely on:

  • Consent — for non-essential cookies and marketing communications. You can withdraw at any time.
  • Performance of a contract — to provide the consultation or service you requested.
  • Legitimate interests — to operate the website, respond to enquiries and improve our content.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with tax, accounting and regulatory requirements.

How we use your data

  • To respond to enquiries and book consultations.
  • To introduce you to vetted in-country immigration, tax, legal or financial specialists where you request that support.
  • To send service-related emails (booking confirmations, follow-ups).
  • To improve our content and understand how visitors use the site.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties for their own marketing.

Who we share data with

  • Regulated partners — only when you ask us to introduce you (e.g. an immigration adviser in your destination country). We share only what is needed for the introduction.
  • Service providers — hosting, email delivery, analytics and form processing providers acting under written data-processing agreements.
  • Authorities — where required by law.

International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the UK / EEA. Where data is transferred internationally, we rely on adequacy decisions or Standard Contractual Clauses to ensure equivalent protection.

How long we keep data

  • Enquiry data — kept for 24 months from last contact, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Client records — kept for 6 years after the engagement ends to meet accounting and regulatory obligations.
  • Analytics data — kept in aggregated form for up to 26 months.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion ("right to be forgotten") subject to legal retention rules.
  • Object to or restrict processing.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the UK, the ICO at ico.org.uk).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us via our contact page.

Security

We use HTTPS, encrypted databases and access controls to protect your data. No system is ever 100% secure — if you believe your data may have been compromised, contact us immediately.

Cookies

For full details of the cookies we use, see our Cookie Policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services or the law evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
